Two Rad Videos About Lord of Griffith 666
Last weekend, riders from L.A. held the sixth and last edition of the Lord of Griffith race. From the videos below and the reports you can read about it, like State’s and Safa Brian’s, the race in Los Angeles was chaotic. Something to expect from a 3 lap sprint around an observatory, with a downhill that leads into city traffic. Expert brakeless track bike riders were able to skidstop their way to victory, while a couple others were claimed by road bends, windshields and such. Yes, it was an illegal race in traffic with cops trying to stop them. Yes, it’s awesome.
There was something similar, albeit much safer, here in Montreal last summer. It was a race on an open-circuit around Mont-Royal and trough Camille-Houde. I bet their will be even more racers next season.
First video on the playlist today is from State Bicycle Company. One of their riders managed to finish second, after leading for a while. Shout out to Josh Tyrell from Montreal who rides with them and placed 7th.
Second video comes from Safa Brian’s blog, whom you may know for having a love of climbing, great legs and even greater short films. I suggest read what he has to say about the race here before watching the movie.
