ThePack: Last toonie crit of the season.
Last Saturday was the finale of the 2014 season of thePack toonie crits. It was also the last amateur/women race of the season. Lots of guys and girls (yes!), other than the regular racers, showed up and as usual it was lots of fun.
Josh and Andy distributing some Slow Cows.
Everyone met up at the Gibeau Orange Julep then walked to the new race location. The riders went for a few test laps and the amateur race started.
Christian Trenchev and Bruno Labelle, ThePack team.
I promised Christian I would also post this one on the blog, so here ya go Christian.
The winners of the amateur race were Rémi Fagnan (1st), Gaëtan Nkamegue (2nd), and Maxime Larivière (3rd). Gaëtan is normally part of the amateur crit lineup, but it was a first for Rémi and Maxime.

Rémi and is rusted+clear coated bike, also feature his dad’s helmet from the 90s.
For the expert’s race, Josh Tyrell (1st), Josh Gieni (2nd), and Christian Trenchev (3rd) ended up on the podium.
I found this new location to be more secure that the previous ‘new’ location. The occasional passing car or truck is still a worry, but the asphalt is much more smoother, which is always a nice thing when you’re racing (duh).
As usual, the crit was celebrated with a few St-Ambroise beers!
If you’ve missed the finale, either as a spectator or a racer, there is the F1 Criterium on October 17th. This race is informal and opened to everyone, we’ll be there for sure! More info on the race here.
