Martin’s Guylene Track Bike
I met Martin at La Course des Morts on Halloween’s Day last year. He was racing on this beautiful track frame that was given to him buy an older track racer who had it lying around for something like 20 years. Sadly, the frame was not in good shape. It had a cracked top tube. So Martin went to the guys at Guru, here in Montreal, to have them fix it. Not easy to rearrange steel that thin. He wanted to use it as a street bike, and thought the look the repair gave it was awesome.
It’s most definitely one of those rat-bikes I talked about earlier, an eye-catcher for those who know a bit about cycling, while being somewhat undercover. The frameset is made of Reynolds 753 steel with Cinelli lugs, it is quite a gorgeous sight. Fitted with Miche and Mavic parts, this bike is without a doubt something that is fun to ride.
