Marinoni : The fire in the frame
We went to see the premiere of the documentary about the legendary framebuilder (and racer) Giuseppe Marinoni last friday. The screening was presented by the RIDM festival and both the director Tony Girardin and the Maestro Giuseppe Marinoni were present to answer questions and give commentaries at the end of the screening.
The movie itself is great. One would think the main subject of the film is cycling, but that is not really the case. Of course, it was filmed when Marinoni was training for the 75 y/o+ Hour Record, and we can see him often in his workshop. However, it is also a lesson in history and a model of inspiration to all of those that work day in and day out on a project that is dear to their hearts. This character study documentary presents the legend as a part workaholic, part athlete and part grandfather figure to a lot of people.
The movie is scheduled to hit the big screens sometime in Mars if they can get the funding to support it. Help them by purchasing a poster from their website here.
