Marc de Storm : made-in-Montreal clothing
Last summer, during the Puces POP, Camille and I had the chance to meet the makers of an emerging cycling apparel brand : Marc De Storm.
Marc De Storm is the project of Brendon Storm and Marc. Brendon is from New-Brunswick and Marc from Catalonia, both now work from Montreal and the surrounding area.
They had a very successful Kickstarter, so good even that now the production is much slower than the demand – we know, we’d like to get more on our hands too! They chose to create and sell cycling apparel as they see (and so do we) cycling as a convenient and logical mode of transportation. All their clothing is locally made and they’re currently looking for bike shops to help distribution.
I decided to purchase one of the prototypes of their long-sleeved jerseys, part of their most cycling specific line. It was the perfect sweater-jersey (with back pockets, too!) during autumn, and now mostly serves as a layer for my winter-kit.
And that decision was not and will never be regretted. This jersey has spent way too much time on my shoulders and I am in the process of getting another one, because the first one I have isn’t getting cleaned often enough. Needless to say, I like it very much. It fits both casual and cycling-specific styles.
Although it’s not available on their website yet, I suggest you go and talk to them about it, especially if you have a cyclist in need of a christmas present. There’s still a couple of very nice garments available online, too.
We’ll follow this lovely, made-in-Montreal, brand closely and we hope to get our hands on more apparel to test soon!
